"Leina lebe ke seromo" a Sepedi proverb for a name given to an individual, well in this case it wont be a name but a nickname.
"Professor" this came into existence when a group of boys turned anti-Godfrey at primary school, as an insult. An insult that Godfrey liked things and didn't want anything to miss him; it either be poetry, choral music, dancing, reading the bible at assembly or any other activity that learners were encouraged to take in, you should name it and you were likely to meet him there, So this bunch of guys, one day called him and sat him down. First words that were said to him was "who do you think you are? Taking over everything that we are told to be doing and making us look like buffoons? You disgust us" "yeah, you think you are a professor, infact you are some sort of professor of everything while you are of no good and poor"said the other boy who was supporting his mate. That was one lucky day that Godfrey didn't respond to the altercations and as days grew, the cluster would call him "professor"and laugh while pointing at his old and torned shoes.
Luckily his friend LA, loved him so much that everytime things went out of control and Godfrey couldn't control his emotions, LA would say to him "Yes you are a professor, a professor who is able to do what they fail at doing and that makes you special". Days grew into months and years. Godfrey and LA got to graduate from high-school as the top of the class and the whole squad that used to tease and laugh at Godfrey's not well life, were nowhere to be found, some having dropped out and some repeating grades like maniacs and still troublesome.
Now as I write this, Godfrey "Professor"and his friend LA are rolling high with high-class people, living the life they only saw in the movies and tv, being the "professor"that was teased.
